James Cook was an 18th-century British explorer known for these three major world voyages. The initial reasons for the expedition was to seek clarification and discover unknown regions in the Southern Hemisphere, mainly Australia and the surrounding islands. While on these excursion, Cook and company were able to discern many astronomical mysteries, discover Pacific islands and tribes, and helped determine longitude lines.

‘Authentic Collection of Cook’s Voyages’ is largely based on George William Anderson’s account of Captain Cook’s voyages. It covers all three Cook voyages, the last part is written by, as the title suggests, ‘several principal officers.
