THOMAS MIFFLIN (1744-1800). Continental Congress President, American Continental Army Major General, 1st and 3rd American Revolution Quartermaster General, Member of the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly, Continental Congressman, Constitutional Convention Delegate of 1787, a "Founding Father," Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, President of the Pennsylvania Supreme Executive Council, and the First Governor of Pennsylvania.
August 31, 1795-Dated Federal Period, Partly-Printed Vellum Document Signed, "Tho Mifflin" as Governor of Pennsylvania, measuring 11" x 20.5", 1 page, (Philadelphia), Very Fine. Typical storage folds, small paper loss at one fold above the reverse seal. Being a large vivid Land Grant of a 466 acre tract of land called 'Denmark' to one Joseph J. Miller. Miller purchased the land from Henry Collins. Mifflin signs with a huge signature at upper left just beneath the Embossed Paper and Wax State Seal. An impressive nicely signed document.
