18 karat yellow gold scarab pendant with detailed, partly matted decorations. The pendant features and Egyptian hallmark. In Egyptian mythology, the scarab was regarded as a sacred animal. Chepri was the god of the rising sun who was said to create a new sun each day. Because of their shape, the balls of dung made and rolled along by these beetles were also associated with the sun, and therefore with Chepri.
