Circa 1900 Pair of antique gold Earrings - 18 Kt Yellow gold in the shape of a flower, each with 7 diamond roses set in silver, diameter ca. 1. 5 cm, approx. 7 grams 7 Roos cut diamonds approximately 2mm ca. 0. 03Ct in each earring, total 14 roos diamonds approx. 0. 42Ct . They have secure hinge back fittings. Rose diamonds have a special look as they are cut to a point in the centre with facets that reflect the light in a completely different way to conventionally cut diamonds. The result is a hard greyish glint that looks fantastic, especially when worn in a candle lit setting, which is what was originally intended. . Wonderful handwork.
