18 kt. Yellow gold - Earrings, Necklace, Set

An antique Georgian necklace, circa 1820/30, with four natural shell cameos in collet settings in 18k solid gold. These cameos were most probably carved in Italy, depicting different classical mythological scenes involving winged cherubs and charriots, very popular at the time. The cameos are connected “en esclavage” by triple tiny seedpearl connections, creating an extreme delicate patern. Each of the panels measures approx. 30mm x 25mm. The seedpearls have been profesionally restrung, ready to wear. The necklace is in very good condition. Two faint natural stresses to one cameo, of no consequence. Lenght: 45cm Originally the necklace was part of a parure, but only the necklace, one single earring and one pin have survived. These two pieces are untouched, but can be restored and converted into a new pair of earrings to match the necklace. These cameos are smaller, both measuring approx. 24x19mm. Please note that the pin cameo is slighty lighter in color. The overall weight of the three items is 19. 6 grams. Unreadable hallmarks to each panels' mounts, but acid tested as 18k gold by my jeweller. The pieces come in a period presentation box (not the original) which has been partially relined.
