Set in yellow gold 18 kt and shell - consisting of 4 pieces of which: dangle earrings with ear hooks of 2. 2 x 1. 8 cm carved with woman's face and interlocking clasps, 4. 3 g - ring in size 17/57 with table of 2. 2 x 1. 8 cm with the same motif as the earrings - pendant of 5. 8 g with size 4. 4 (H with eyelet) x 3. 2 that can also be worn as a brooch as the eyelet has a hinge that can turn downwards - all of the pieces are in exceptional condition, made in Italy in the early 900s by a Sicilian master goldsmith and with Sicilian corals - very light traces of wear, almost imperceptible - the set is very rare as it would usually consist of a couple pieces, but in this case we have slightly different women's figures - part of one single collection - above all pay close attention to the figure engraved on the brooch/pendant with top-level craftsmanship, along with the details of the necklace and earrings that highlight the face - immediate and insured shipping. These cameos are very reminiscent of the portrait of Augustus in the British Museum and the Renaissance cameos from the Medici and Gonzaga collections. Trivia: As photographs did not exist yet, the cameos acted as portraits: noble families used them to portray their daughters and present them in the various courts so as to find them a good future husband.
