Translated from the Portuguese and published in 1801 under the
heading "A Political Essay on the Commerce of Portugal and her
Colonies, particularly of Brasil in South America."
Borba de Moraes notes that there this one edition of the English translation and that all
later editions are "no more than the first edition with a new title
page..." - a measure used frequently in the last century, to sell the
remaining copies of the first edition."
