Jakob Böhme was an early 17th-century German philosopher known for his theology which was a fusion of Lutheran traditions and mysticism. In 1621, Böhme wrote his most important book ‘De Signatura Rerum’ – his approach to the Doctrine of Signatures. He suggested that God marked various worldly things with a ‘sign’ indicating their purpose. These things included plants, animals, and much more providing clear evidences of his mysterious findings.
This 1820 printing of the works of Böhme includes his first book ‘Aurora’. This work describes various parts of life through the lens of the analogies of the planets and solar system. He provides commentary on melancholy and depression, love, spiritual rebirth, good vs. evil, and human expression.
