1845-model cuirassier helmet for the infantry.
Steel helmet shell marked “137,” “45,” “6,” and stamped “LR.” Crest featuring a jellyfish head surmounting a flaming grenade on the front, with fluted sides, a rim, leather-lined chain chinstraps, rosettes with a radiating background, and a plume holder and marmot made of stamped brass. Turban made of navy blue cowhide with lacing at the back. Black horsehair mane and red horsehair plume on the marmot. Leather inner lining (minor imperfections) and scarlet plume.
