1849 DATED HARPERS FERRY MODEL 1841 MISSISSIPPI
RIFLE. Cal. 54. NSN. This is an attractive example of the popular brass mounted Mississippi rifle, lock has eagle over "US" and at tail vertically "HARPERS / FERRY / 1849". CONDITION: very good, appears complete including sling swivels and brass tipped ramrod. The bbl has been cleaned and buffed to a bright gray patina with no discernible proofs, lock markings fine, sound stock, mottled dark mustard brass patina, mechanics are fine, bore has been reamed to .56 caliber smooth bore.
