1850s TIFFANY & Co. Sterling Silver Container
Antique lidded box or condiment container, either coin or sterling silver. Rabbit finial on lid. Marked with Tiffany's 550 Broadway address, which dates the piece to the 1850s-60s. Measures about 4-1/2" high and weighs a hefty 273 grams. Small 3/4" split at rabbit's front paws, pretty much invisible unless viewed from the underside of the lid. Sides have heads with rings above them that might originally held both ends of a woven handle.
