This is a fascinating and quite rare Atlas contaning unique maps of the world as the world was understood by Europeans at sixteen points in time, from creationin 2348 B.C. to America's discovery in 1498.The maps are quite unique in that the unknown regions are covered in dark clouds and peeled back in subsequent time period maps.Each period is explained in several pages of narrative text.All 16 maps are present.This is a reduced version of Quin's earlier Historical Atlas.This item was published by Richard Griffin and Co. and only three copies are listed globally in OCLC.
