1859-O S$1

[ translate ]

1859-O $1 MS63 PCGS. OC-1, R.1. Osburn-Cushing Die State c/e. An often-told numismatic tale features a fortunate collector purchasing a sealed bag of silver dollars from the U.S. Treasury at face value circa 1960. Once opened, the bag contained only Mint State '59-O and '60-O dollars. The coins were lustrous but abraded. Today, the '59-O can be found in MS60 to MS62, but MS63 examples are elusive. This crisply struck representative displays blushes of gunmetal toning. Small marks are scattered, and fewer than anticipated. HID10510052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
