Beautiful lithographic book of hours, all the pages decorated with colored borders, of fine beauty. Enc. in full leather with threads, fleur-de-lis, angels in the corners and a mandorla with the crucifixion on the front and the annunciation to Mary on the back, all in golden irons, edges and eyebrows decorated in gold; metal clasps with fleur-de-lis, ribs and curved lomera, golden cuts, presented in a protective case with a silk interior. These books of hours made by Gruel & Engelmann became popular during the 19th century and could be very varied, but always taking as an example the manuscripts of the royal library.
