A rare 1862 printing of the United States Constitution. This edition was organized by George S Williams and features a gold embossed front cover board. This edition was one of the final issues of the Constitution to not include the 13th-Amendment on slavery.

In addition to the Constitution, this volume includes the Declaration of Independence, The Articles of Confederation, Washington’s Farewell Address, and notes on state’s admittance into the Union. George Williams supplemented these American documents with his own comparison commentary on these documents and their importance to American history.
