1864 Confederate States Of America Richmond CSA $5 Note T-69 Reprinted 1954

Obverse: Features the Virginia State Capitol building in Richmond at the center and a portrait of C.G. Memminger (the first Confederate Secretary of the Treasury) at the bottom right. Reverse: Displays ornamental green or blue ink designs with large "FIVE" lettering. Printed by Keatinge and Ball in Columbia, South Carolina. M. Carrington. She was one of the many women hired by the Confederate Treasury Department in Richmond to manually sign currency due to the massive volumes of paper money being printed. Historical Fact: An authentic T-69 $5 note was famously found in Abraham Lincoln s pocket at the time of his assassination in April 1865.
