‘The Conspiracy Trials of 1826 and 1827’ is about Jacob Barker’s time being convicted and then acquitted of financial fraud. In July of 1826, several prominent Wall Street firms abruptly went bankrupt, amid scandalous revelations of fraudulent financial practices by their management. Jacob Barker being a prominent financier on Wall Street was involved in the case and in 1826 was found guilty, but one year later his case was reopened, and he was acquitted of all charges. This book was printed during the civil war when Barker was trying to regain his fortune which he lost during the Civil War.

This 1864 first edition includes an introduction by R.D. Turner with a frontispiece portrait of Jacob Barker.
