1865 1C Plain 5 MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Snow-6. The date is minutely repunched on this variety. Rick Snow (Flying Eagle & Indian Cent Attribution Guide, third edition) notes: "This variety is somewhat minor but scarce." The current coin might have garnered a full Red designation based off of the obverse, which has uniform golden-bronze luster, though some burgundy overtones on the reverse earn the Red and Brown classification.
