1865 1ed Lincoln Assassination Trial Conspiracy Wilkes Booth Civil War Bingham

John A Bingham was an American politician who is best remembered for his role in the trial of the Abraham Lincoln assassination. Bingham made a profound argument against eight individuals who were accused of conspiring against Lincoln, just two months following Lincoln’s death. This argument, which was eventually published in book form, included intense accusations of Jefferson Davis, whom Bingham calls just as guilty as John Wilkes Booth, for his attitude of hatred and slander against Lincoln.

This 1865 first edition of Bingham’s ‘Argument’ is an incredibly valuable piece of American Civil War history and has notoriously been difficult to find.
