A bust of Liberty wearing a cap ornamented with three stars faces right, the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounds the figure, and a scroll with IN GOD WE TRUST is below. The reverse depicts 25 CENTS centered in a wreath of oak and laurel leaves with STANDARD SILVER above and the date 1869 below. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Blue-green and apricot-gold fields accompany plum-red borders and high points. A colorful Gem of a challenging Judd variety that has fewer than a dozen known specimens.
