1872 GRANT/WILSON PAPER LANTERN.
9" diameter lantern lays flat but extends open to a height of 16" or more. Interior base has metal holder for a candle. The inscription is printed in dark blue on two sides against an off-white bkg. accented at both top and bottom by bright purple circular accents. The blue printing of the text and design partially bled, as produced, onto the white area of the accordion folds. A few small separations along vertical seam & horizontal folds, toning to white ground. Fine. Bold, readable survivor and truly unusual campaign artifact.
