Provenance: Cotton 1870's / 1880's turkey red, cheddar and white "Crown of thorns" quilt, all treadle machine pieced and hand quilted. There are straight line designs quilted throughout at 9-10 stitches to the inch, with faint pencil marks still visible in places. The back and hand stitched, rolled binding are the same aged white and the batting is thin.
