2518 . Pte. J. STEEL, 19th HUSrs. engraved on the edge. Brilliant and reflective, polished to brightness.

Private Steel had an unhappy ending: the medal rolls, dated 17 July 1887, list him as, simply, "dead."

Accompanied by a Khedive's Star. Offered with a ribbon of uncertain age, but likely original.
