The composition, arranged in successive registers, includes episodes from the lives of the Virgin Mary and Christ, with each scene accompanied by inscriptions in Church Slavonic. The figures stand out against gilded backgrounds and are rendered in a palette dominated by shades of red, ochre, green, and blue. The margins are adorned with figures of the Evangelists and inscriptions. 18th-century Russian work.
