18th C. Indo-Persian Brass Ewer & Copper Bowl w/ Script

Near East / Central Asia, Ottoman Empire / Northern India, Islamic Indo-Persian / Mughal culture, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A Persian brass bowl and a brass Mughal style ewer. The bowl features a squat, flared foot beneath a hemispherical body and a flared rim on top, with Persian script etched into the exterior below the rim. The water ewer, also known as an aftaba, rests on 4 feet, with a hinged lid, tulip shaped knob and handle finial, and etched arabesque / floral motifs across the surface. Size of ewer: 11" L x 4.5" W x 12.5" H (27.9 cm x 11.4 cm x 31.8 cm); bowl: 7" Diameter x 4.2" H (17.8 cm x 10.7 cm)

Condition Report: Antique condition with heavy green patina on the interior of the bowl. Old repairs and restoration, material welded to infill holes and fissures. Heavy surface wear to exterior from age and use, fair condition. Ewer is also antique condition with restoration and infill to exterior base. Dark patina and toning throughout. Overall good condition.
