18th C. Indo-Persian Steel Round Mace
Central Asia, Indo-Persian, ca. 18th century CE. An original, rare round mace featuring an ornate handle similar in style to Indo-Persian swords, a long, columnar shaft, and a ring-like mace end, all forged entirely of steel. The handle features a stylized lion, sacred mount of the Hindu god of warfare, Lord Kartikya. The hilt terminates in a spike, the perfect end to this deadly weapon, designed to destroy heavy combat helmets. Size: 4.1" W x 36.5" H (10.4 cm x 92.7 cm)
