18th C. Islamic Silver Ring Gilded Border Arabic Script

Near East, Islamic culture, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A beautiful silver ring featuring an 18th-century bezel of a flat ovoid form set on a thick 19th-century band that tapers opposite the bezel. The bezel is adorned with a gorgeous inscription in Arabic surrounded by a lustrous gilt border, while each side of the convex band is decorated with an elaborate design of 2 deer surrounded by an intricate vegetal motif.
