A monumental 18th Century or earlier hand carved giltwood Santos Virgin Mary Lady of Charity sculpture, modeled in the traditional style venerated in the Roman Catholic and other religious traditions. The central Mother Mary statue surmounts a base of detailed carved putti cherub faces. Profuse gilding throughout. Rich patina and excellent detailing. Includes four individual removable hand carved cherub angel adornments. Good vintage condition with age related wear. Measures 59 in. x 31 in. x 15 in. Hill Auction Gallery will not ship.
