18th CENTURY WILSON LONDON FLINTLOCK TRADE MUSKET
Early British trade rifle made by Wilson and stamped on lock. Stock is shaped like a Brown Bess musket. The brass butt plate is stamped D96. The 37" barrel has double touch mark cartouche at breech. Also features brass side plate, trigger guard (with crack at tang) finials and nose cap. Sports iron sling swivels. Metal is aged. Stock is very good with usual repaired wrist cracks. Early goose neck hammer. With regimental stamp on butt plate, possible Sgt's Fusil. Possible Rev War but definately late 18th century. A
