18th Century Louis XV Ormolu Chinoiserie Clock
France, mid-18th century. Louis XV ormolu bronze mantel clock. Rococo style case with scrolling acanthus leaves and finely cut foliate grillwork having a chinoiserie figural crest and mounted to a matching footed base. Silk thread movement.Clock case marked twice with a "C" crowned (c- couronné poinçon mark 1745-1749). Works and face unmarked. With pendulum & key. 23.5" H, 18.5" W, 11" D. Provenance: From a prominent Private Collection, Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition Report: Enamel face chipped around winding holes and top edge. Missing screw where umbrella meets hand. Wear to gilding area clock face door and verso of door. Some wear to secondary floral motifs. Other minor areas of loss to gilding.
