18th Century Regence Upholstered Armchair. The head rail with central shell carving sprouting acanthus leaves across the rail to either side; shaped arms with scrolled ends; cabriole legs with acanthus carvings; the later upholstery in red on white lion and flower pattern. {Approximate dimensions: 44 3/4 high x 28 1/2 wide x 30 inches deep.}. Condition: Evidence of previous insect damage. Apparent repairs to arms and legs. Despite the repairs the piece is very stable. Surface wear and minor chip losses. Overall condition is good considering age.
