Sophisticated Consulate/Empire period Retour d'Egypte style table clock. Porch type, made of black marble and mercury-gilded bronze. Plinth and two pilasters that support the box. White porcelain dial with enamelled Roman numerals. Paris type machinery, with pendulum. Decoration of Egyptian motifs such as caryatids, griffins and a central curtain with a female figurehead. Pompadour with vegetable garland and bouquet. Slight defects on the bottom of the marble. In glass lantern with wooden base. France, circa 1799 - 1815.
