18th c Chinese watercolor on paper scroll with Buddhist figures, with old pencil note in margin "Gods or Goddesses and Chin attendants", sight 45" x 20 1/2", framed, overall size 46 1/2" x 22 1/4", (brought back from China by Miss Addie E. Cox, a Baptist Missionary in Wei Shih near Kaifeng, Honan, China in 1938 when the Japanese invaded, sold with a copy of her letter home with vivid description of the brutal behavior of the invading Japanese soldiers.), tears, creases, obvious signs of age and use
