A Dutch etched brass tobacco box, 18th century. Eight-sided rectangular box, elaborate open-work and etched motif on the lid and bottom of the box. The hinged lid decorated with eight roundels depicting various mythological figures, centered with Dutch writing. The bottom of the box decorated with the Amsterdam Coat of Arms. The sides of the box additionally etched with winged figures, Dutch writing and a geometric motif. Measures 6" x 2.25" x 1.5" high.
