18thc Hand-carved European Hunting Ox Horn
Early hand-carved hunting horn - 18thc European, probably German, from an ox horn. Carved with spiral rank of dancing putti, one with cloven hooves & two additional cloven-hoofed putti playing instruments, ending with an ancient elm, in the form of a 'Horn-of-Plenty' or cornucopia, with dragon-form tip & fluted opening. 21" L X 4" W at widest point.
