An antique mid-19th century porcelain plaque by KPM. The hand-painted oval plaque represents a portrait of a young woman in white veil holding an oil lamp. After an original 1782 painting titled Portrait of a Lady as a Vestal Virgin by Angelica Kauffman, 1741 to 1807, a Swiss Neoclassical painter. Embossed hallmark KPM is on the backside. The Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, or KPM, was one of the most influential porcelain factories in 18th-century Germany, and it still operates today.
