Original WW I British Poster - Public Warning - Aircraft Identification Chart. Authentic and original World War I British poster printed for Her Majesty's Stationary Office by Sir Joseph Causton and Sons Ltd, London, 1915. The poster shows silhouettes of German and British airships and aeroplanes including the now-famous Zeppelins. The Warning Statement: The public are advised to familiarize themselves with the appearance of British and German Airships and Aeroplanes, so that they may not be alarmed by British aircraft and may take shelter if German aircraft appear…. do not stand about in crowds and do not touch unexploded bombs. This 100 + year old paper poster is in exceptionally good condition, archivally framed and from the collection of a world-class ephemera collector. Image Print size 34 x 22.5 inches Framed Size: 24 inches X 36 inches. WW I Air Raids: the first time modern aircraft were used to drop bombs on enemy targets. In 1915 the Germans began targeted bombing raids using Zeppelin airships that traveled quietly over British citizens and Blitzed cities to devastating effect.
