From a mintage of more than 4.3 million pieces, with many examples repatriated from foreign holdings, the 1924 Saint-Gaudens double eagle might be considered the bench mark for what a type coin issue is: plentiful overall, available in high grade, and often found quite attractive. This spectacular Superb Gem example checks those boxes entirely. Vibrant straw-gold mint luster complements the sharply detailed design elements, while close examination fails to reveal any noteworthy abrasions.
