1924 HUNTER ARMS FIELD GRADE SXS 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN
SERIAL NUMBER: 78322. BARREL: 30". GAUGE: 12 GA. CHOKE: MOD (LEFT), CYL (RIGHT). CHAMBER: 2 3/4". MANUFACTURED: 1924. The 1924 Hunter Arms L.C. Smith Field Grade 12-Gauge with 30-inch barrels is a classic American sidelock shotgun built for rugged field use. Produced in Fulton, New York, it features blued "Armor Steel" barrels, plain sidelock plates stamped "L.C. Smith," and a color case-hardened receiver. The stock and slim splinter forend are crafted from unadorned American walnut with basic hand checkering. Mechanically, it utilizes double triggers, manual extractors, and an automatic tang safety. The serial number 78322 confirms its 1924 production date. Its 30-inch barrels provide a smooth-swinging balance highly favored for vintage clay and waterfowl shooting. Because it was built for the transitional paper-shell era, the chambers should be checked by a gunsmith for length and safety before firing modern ammunition. CONDITION: Very Good. The bores are smooth and bright. The barrels appear to have been reworked / refinished at some point. Operates normally. C&R 27-494
