1930 Morris Cowley Four Seat Tourer // Registration Number: TP 9063 / MOT Test Expiry: Exempt / Guide Price: £10000 - 12000 / Road Tax Exempt // From an avid collector of old and interesting cars comes this redoubtable Morris Cowley Tourer, sadly being offered due to the gentleman's demise. The motor car has been in the same family since 1993 and has now passed to his son, who quite understandably perhaps, due to being of a different generation, has had his head turned by an MGA. Following on from the ubiquitous Bullnose, the Flatnose Cowley was produced from 1927 to 1931 and could be purchased in a number of different body styles. TP 9063 is an original four seat tourer very much as it left the factory, and still retaining a period presence The paintwork is nicely mellowed and could be retained if prizes are unimportant. The interior trim is very good. The blue upholstery in nice order and the wood dashboard has a full set of instruments. On the running board is a well-stocked, built in tool box. Power comes from the 11.9hp Hotchkiss type four cylinder side valve engine with magneto ignition and drives through a manual three speed gearbox. Artillery wheels are fitted as standard. The hood and sidescreens were not fitted at the time of our inspection but will be in place for the auction sale. Historical notes on the file indicate that the motor car was owned by Reginald Moore of the Dargate Motor Museum near Canterbury during the 1980s. His friend, Roy Skinner from Sidcup, used the Morris for rallies most weekends, including the London-Cambridge Run. Upon his death, the car passed into the Woodhouse family who took it to Clifford Gott in Downham Market for restoration around 1986. From the Woodhouses it was acquired by the present family. TP 9063 comes with a V5C registration certificate, plus two previous V5Cs. Also included is a collection of MOT test certificates, invoices and notes.
