Much detail is provided throughout the map and in the plathora of vignettes surrounding the map. Many towns and cities are shown with corresponding important events or buildings of that town. The roads are illustrated. Much additional details are shown include revolutionary period events, people, natural wonders, flora and fauna, Indians, industries, universities, etc. The artist, E Shurtleff, is one of the key pioneering female pictorial mapmakers of her time, along with R T White. This is a four color version of her work, versus the more commonly seen three color version. Published by Hagstrom Co.
