1930's Green Abingdon #487 Heron Art Deco Umbrella
This is a rare Abingdon Potterty, molded, 14" tall Umbrella Stand. It has a distinctive Art Deco style. The heavy ceramic, inscribed #487, is glazed green. It has slightly flared sides, and a scalloped rim. The sides feature long reeds, bending right and left, with a large heron walking through, and parting, the reeds. This feature is found on both sides. This dramatic piece is in excellent condition with no chips, or cracks, and very little wear. There is one small glaze chip at the base. The base is inscribed #487, and has a black ink "ABINGDON, USA" stamp.
