1932 Ford B400 Custom Boyd Convertible

[ translate ]

No Reserve. This 1932 was one of the last cars Boyd Coddington worked on. The story goes that this project was brought to Boyd to do a full build. The original B400 body was so nice, that Boyd didn?t feel it appropriate to modify such a pristine piece. Instead, a hand built Marcels body was used and the restoration project began. They created a longer hood and side panels, and matching stretched fenders. The finish is a simple but effective application of rich black exterior paint by Bernet Carlsen. The crowning touch is the one-of-a-kind steel lift-off top. Unfortunately, during this process, Boyd passed and was unable to complete the car. Gary Matranga, owner of Sherm?s Plating in Sacramento, California comes along and purchases the incomplete project. Gary is one that wants perfection out of his builds and the proof is in the end product.

Power is supplied by Roush Racing - a 358 cubic inch fuel injected Ford small block with a complete roller valvetrain and custom fabbed headers. The exhaust exits in a marvelously executed single outlet that fits ingeniously beneath the chromed independent rear suspension. Ron Mangus worked his magic on the interior, which presents the luxurious high-end feel of the world?s greatest automobiles. Black high-grade leather covers the power bucket seats, and the look, feel, and that wonderful aroma confirms that only the very best made it into this build. Wool carpeting, deep, dark wood trim, and custom gauges highlight a truly decadent cabin. The car has fully independent suspension with coil overs at all four corners. Also, all the way around are power disc brakes. Driver control is also aided by power rack & pinion steering. The closer and longer you look, the more amazing details you discover ? as it is with any true masterpiece. MILEAGE: 1. VIN: 18144093.
