1935-S 5C

[ translate ]

1935-S 5C MS67+ NGC. VP-002, RPM-002. A secondary S mintmark punching appears east of the primary mintmark on this variety. Despite the rather prominent nature of the repunching, the variety is not represented in the Cherrypickers' reference, though it is recognized by both NGC and CONECA. As a date, the 1935-S Buffalo nickel is a tremendous rarity in MS67 with a Plus designation, and no numerically finer pieces are known. This satiny, champagne-tinged example displays vibrant luster and is pristine. Though struck from worn dies, the devices show strong definition overall. Census: 70 in 67 (15 in 67+, 1 in 67 S, 1 in 67+ S), 0 finer (3/24). HID10510052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
