1940-D 1C, RD

[ translate ]

1940-D 1C MS66 Red PCGS. Ex: Omaha Bank Hoard. Commercial demand for coinage increased in 1940, as the national economy finally fully recovered from the effects of the Depression. Accordingly, the Denver Mint increased production of Lincoln cents dramatically that year, with a mintage of more than 81 million pieces. The 1941-D is not difficult to locate at the MS66 grade level today, but the issue does become scarce in finer grades. This delightful Premium Gem, from the famous Omaha Bank Hoard, exhibits sharply detailed design elements and virtually flawless original red surfaces, with vibrant mint luster and outstanding eye appeal.
