1941 FL Harley Davidson 74 CI Knucklehead

[ translate ]

In late 1941, America would be plunged into war after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and Harley-Davidson with it. It was also the first year that HD released the FL. The 1941 model had the OHV Knucklehead engine, which replaced the Flathead back in 1936, but this was the first year that the engine size increased from 61 to 74 cubic inches. The Knucklehead would be the primary engine used by HD until 1947 when it would be replaced by the Pan head in 1948

Here is a great running original 1941 74 CI Knucklehead powered Harley Davidson. a late 41 # that has ribbed cases, introduced mid year and saved cases from cracking. Starts easy with 2 primer kicks and one w/key on. All original with a few 5 aftermarket parts tail light, springer, muffler, cylinders and bars. All original sheet metal, dash, speedometer, headlight, even tires. Original heads, good engine numbers, frame uncut. This is ready to put a tag on and go. Good title.

Pre war knuckleheads are getting hard to find and this is a landmark year with the introduction of the 74FL engine.
