1948 "Family of Pygmies - Belgian Congo" Photograph of taken by Life Magazine Staff Photographer Weldon King on while on The Gatti-Hallicrafters Expedition to the Mountains of the Moon in 1948. Photo measures 13.75" x 16.5", mounted to a display board 16" x 20" which bears the title and King's signature in pencil. This photograph was taken by King on a 1948 expedition to the "Mountains of the Moon," likely the Rwenzori Mountain range in modern-day Uganda. Backer board shows typical age toning and has a small hole at top center from mounting. The Photograph is in superb condition with only a tiny scratch noted at top center. Also included is the May 4, 1953 Edition of Life Magazine, featuring Weldon's photography from this expedition. Rare. (2 items)
