Italy, 1950, Borgo San Leucio - Dimensions: 245 x 265 cm, high historical value, a true work of art. An extraordinary pure silk bedspread, richly decorated with floral motifs and finished with a silk and cotton fringe on three sides. Olive green colour (a very rare colour!) This bedspread is vintage and it dates back to the mid-1900s. This piece is in an outstanding state of preservation, it shows signs of oxidation and stains of wear consistent with its age. Artefact of great value and very heavy. Real masterpieces, proof of the accuracy in the preparation of patterns and jacquard loom prints, as well as the evolution of fashion. These fabrics are never ordinary, but are rich of different meanings, with an inimitable patina that only an authentic ageing can give. The piece is to be cleaned, as usual Dimensions: 245 x 265 cm, with fringe on 3 sides. The historical origins of Silk Art in San Leucio date back to the year 1789, when Francesco De Negri, a Genoese textile master, wanted by King Ferdinand, moved to San Leucio to work in the Royal Silk Colony, founded a few kilometres from the Palace of Caserta by Ferdinand IV King of Naples then King of the Two Sicilies.
