In 1953 Popular Science magazine ran an ad in its August edition for a set of fantastic life size pin-ups including the rising star, Marilyn Monroe. The adwas sandwiched between offers for "Bargain Carbine-style .22 Rifles," "Build Your Own Jet Engine," and "Famous Super Sniffer for Uranium Prospecting," and called the pin-up posters "The Best Gag Gift Ever." For only two dollars, youcould own one of these images of Monroe in her bikini. The two styles were for two different printings of the poster and sold by different vendors.
