~ 1955 Yellow Gold Gentlemans 15 Jewel Wrist Watch ~
Here we have a 9ct yellow gold gentleman’s watch from 1955 in rather good condition and still working.
The case and fittings are all of 9ct yellow gold.
The face of the watch has a brushed silver finish. The numbers seem to be rose gold and the hands are of gold. The seconds dial has only dashes at increments of ten.
The inside of the case is hallmarked ‘9 375’ along with a castle denoting Edinburgh and a ‘Z’ showing this was assayed in 1955. There is also the mark ‘B.W.C.’.
The serial no. is ‘42585’.
The movement is stamped ‘Swiss Made, 15 jewels’.
~ Condition ~
The watch is in working order.
There are a few small scratches to the cover.
The leather is still supple but has some discolouration.
There appears to be the numbers ‘26315’ written in pen on the inside of the case.
